These terms apply the moment you download or use Pictty, so please read them carefully first. If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.
01Licence
Pictty is free and open source software, © 2026 Marco Cebrián Muiño, released under the GNU General Public License, version 3. You may use it, study it, change it and share it. Anything you distribute that is built from it must be released under the same licence, together with its source code.
02Source code & name
The source code is on GitHub. The licence covers the code; it does not grant the use of the name Pictty or its icon for a version you distribute. Please give a modified version a name of its own.
03Your files
Pictty reads pictures and changes a file only when you ask it to: Move to Trash moves the picture to the Trash, where it stays until you empty it. You are responsible for keeping backups of your pictures. Marco Cebrián Muiño accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss of files or data.
04No warranty
As the GPL states, Pictty is provided without any warranty, to the extent permitted by law. Pictty opens the formats macOS can read and develops camera RAW files with Apple’s RAW engine; a camera or format that macOS does not support may not open, or may look different from the camera’s own software. Histograms, clipping warnings and colour values are measurements to help you look, not guarantees about a file.
05Your Mac
Pictty needs macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later and a Mac with Apple silicon. You’re responsible for keeping your Mac and macOS up to date.
06Updates & termination
New versions are published on this website. System requirements may change, and you may need to install a new version to keep using the app. We may stop providing the app and end your right to use it at any time without notice. On termination, the rights granted to you here end and you must stop using and, if asked, delete the app.
07Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time, so please check this page periodically. Any changes are effective as soon as they're posted here.
